proposed project. How do you plan to cover these additional expenses?
Upkeep and maintanence: Our purchases would be closely aligned with items our district currently maintains. For items which our district is not able to service, we would need to purchase Best Buy service agreements.
Staff Development: In order to get the technology into the hands of the students, we would need to train our staff in the procedures for equipment and software use. Our district currently has a staff development budget that would be able to adequately cover the training for technology use. In some cases, students might even train the teachers! The district has close ties with local radio and TV stations, and even the local public television station, KCPT, hosts a technology conference geared toward the needs of our school community.
Keeping up-to-date in an ever-evolving technology world: As technology changes, we need to keep replacing old, out-dated equipment and software. Our district does consider capital outlay requests for equipment which is frequently bundled with appropriate software.
